The Convention People's Party (CPP) Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Ms Samia Nkrumah, says it is time for the CPP to restrategise and become more relevant on the political arena.
“We cannot continue to remain irrelevant to political governance in this country,” she stated.
At a meeting with party leaders in the Central Region to continue her campaign for the party's chairmanship, Ms Nkrumah said the situation in which the party found itself in required drastic solutions.
She said it was obvious that the CPP could not remain stuck to the old strategies and expect to achieve any significant thing in the country's general elections.
“Bad performance cannot be considered good experience,” she said.
She said it was time the CPP adopted a clearer message that would be relayed to the masses.
For that to be achieved, she said there was the need to build party structures in the constituencies and democratise decision-making while ensuring transparency and accountability.
She said Ghanaians now required transparency and accountability in the management of the nation and added that the CPP must prepare itself to meet the needs of the people.
Ms Nkrumah said it was important to use all human and financial resources to rally the people for the next major elections.
She called on the members to rally strong independent men and women to move the party forward.
She called on the delegates to elect her as chairman of the party to help change the fortunes of the party.
The Central Regional Chairman of the CPP, Mr. Kwame Adu Ansah, asked the people to choose leaders who were ready to woo more support for the party.
