Samira Bawumia, wife of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice Presidential Candidate Mahamudu Bawumia, appeared on Joy FM’s Drive Time with Bola Ray for a friendly chat. She confessed to listening to hiplife and azonto, naming Sarkodie as her favorite artiste. She said that she was on good terms with the wives of other presidential and vice presidential candidates and that she first met Mrs. Yvonne Nduom on a TV3 lifestyle show that they both worked on about a decade ago. Mrs. Bawumia said while the election has been difficult on her children, they understand the importance of their parents’ work and they have been quite cooperative. Speaking of free senior high school, the centerpiece of the NPP’s campaign platform, she said that the programme was vitally important but that it was only a part of a comprehensive plan to take Ghana to the next level of development. Other aspects, she explained, include quality healthcare for everyone and increased job creation.
