Journalists across the country will tomorrow say good bye to former colleague of the Ghanaian Times newspaper Sam Nuamah who died in the presidential press corps accident last month.

Ahead of his burial, the Ghana Journalists Association, GJA, is tasking the police to expedite investigations into circumstances surrounding the accident that led to his death.

The Association is also praying for a quick investigation into the shooting to death of the 40-year- old John Abanga of Success FM at Kwapong in the Bono Ahafo Region..

“The last few days have been very painful,” GJA General Secretary, David Agbenu stated, adding that the association expects full disclosures on the investigations.

Since last month, neither the police nor government has given its position about what happened in the presidential press corps accident.

Sources say investigations into such matter should not last more than a week after the DVLA did its assessment and presented its findings to the police.

National Road Safety Commission took samples of the tyres and upon painstaking examination, concluded that the tyres were not in good condition and not suitable for the roads.

Meanwhile, the Accra Regional MTTD Commander has told Joy News that his outfit is yet to complete investigations into the accident.

But information gathered by Joy News indicates the police are yet to question the driver of the vehicle.

Joy News’ Manasseh Azure Awuni who has been following the story keenly gathered that the rented GMC Savanna van with registration number GB 506-12 was manufactured in 2002.

It was registered in 2012 by one Abraham Donkor from Tema as a second hand private vehicle.

The vehicle is managed by Emma Car Rentals, owned by Emmanuel Abbey Annertey. It is a sole proprietorship registered in 2014.

Manasseh gathered that the company has no office and has no record of paying tax to the state.

In an incognito interview with Manasseh, Abbey Annertey said he does not have money to buy a car so he relies on people with cars and would want to rent.

The GJA President, Affail Monney, had told Joy News in an earlier interview that the Chief of Staff informed him that the company is a reputable company that the state deals with even during international programmes.
