Lawyer, and television presenter, Sandra Ankobiah has donated items worth thousands of Ghana Cedi, to the Legal Aid Scheme office in Accra.
The presentation she said was to aid the effective running of the office, which is in dire need of help.
Mostly stationery items - including A4 sheets, and staplers - according to the scheme’s handlers, will go a long way to help them in their discharge of official duties.
“Legal aid is an important aspect of what we do as Lawyers; and to think that a unit such as this is barely equipped, makes it very sad. I pray you find them useful, putting each to god use,” she said.
Executive Director of the Legal Aid Scheme, Mr. A.Y Seini, thanked her for the gesture, promising his outfit would ensure the items are used for the purposes for which they were donated.
“What you have just done goes to show how well your value our work here. We would put them to use.”
A young Lawyer, and currently a co-host on TV3′s morning show, New Day, Ankobiah is a former Miss Ghana, and Miss Ecowas Runner Up.
She is a product of Buckingham University, and the Ghana Law School. She is coordinator of the Legal Advocacy Foundation.
