Michael Owusu Addo popularly known as Sarkodie is definitely on an awards nomination spree.
Barely 24 hours after he got nominated in the Best Africa Act category of this year’s Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) awards, he has earned a nomination in this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards.
The nominees for the awards were released Tuesday and the Ghanaian rapper has been nominated alongside other African heavy weights - Camp Mulla from Kenya, Wizkid, D’banj all from Nigeria, and Mi Casa from South Africa – in the Worldwide Act category.
Various artistes from different regions: Europe, Latin America, North America, Asia Pacific and Africa/India/Middle East, have been nominated to faceoff for a spot in the final list of the Worldwide Act category which will be released on October 30.
Sarkodie will be hoping to outshine his African peers to earn a place in the Worldwide Act when the local nominees are announced on October 15 ahead of the October 30 date.
The awards ceremony comes off at the Festhalle in Frankfurt, Germany on Sunday, November 11 and it has Rihanna leading the pack with the most nominations.
Rihanna leads with six nominations followed by Taylor Swift with five nominations, while Justin Bieber and Katy Perry both got four each.
The We Found Love singer earned nominations in the Best Song, Best Pop, Best Female, Best Video, Best Look and Biggest Fans.
