Staff and Pupils of basic schools in the New Juaben Municipality and Okorase in the Akuapem North District have donated GH¢200 (two million cedis) to Master Karimu Danjima, a nine-year-old pupil of Jumapo Methodist Primary School, who is undergoing cardio vascular treatment.
The donation was a contribution towards his medical care at the Koforidua Regional hospital.
A JSS two pupil of Oyoko Methodist JSS, Miss Helena Dankwa made the presentation to Mrs Faustina Asare, the Ward-In-Charge of the Children’s Ward.
Mrs Asare thanked the group for the donation and said part of the money would be used to register the child’s mother under the National Health Insurance Scheme so that the boy could be covered.
She said the bane of the children’s ward was the inability of parents to pay bills of their children admitted to the hospital and urged parents to register with the Mutual Health Insurance Scheme.
