The second edition of the Ogyeahoho Science and Technology Fair is scheduled to start from October 6th to 10th, 2025, for selected senior high schools in the Western North Region.
This follows a highly successful maiden edition in 2024, which attracted over 2,250 students from 50 schools.
The initiative, spearheaded by Avance Media, continues to build on its mission to expand access to STEM education in underserved communities.
Under the visionary leadership of the Paramount Chief of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area and President of the National House of Chiefs, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, the fair seeks to provide students with hands-on exposure to modern technologies that many have never encountered in their schools or communities.
This year’s edition will be held in three sessions across three major host schools, each serving students within their districts:
● 6th – 7th October: Bibiani Senior High Technical School (hosting JHS and SHS students in Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal)
● 8th October: Sefwi Wiawso Senior High School (hosting schools within Sefwi Wiawso and surrounding districts)
● 9th – 10th October: Juaboso Senior High School (hosting schools within Juaboso and surrounding districts)
Speaking ahead of the event, Project Lead for the Ogyeahoho Science and Technology Fair, Ifeanyi Ahyia Adjei, disclosed that some 5,000 students would be exposed to emerging technologies during the fair.
“The 2025 fair is targeting over 5,000 students, providing them with practical exposure to emerging technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence, drone innovation, STEMAIDE automation, physical computing, scratch programming, coding and software development, 3D printing, virtual reality, hands-on science experiments, and career mentorship”, she said.
Madam Ifeanyi also emphasised that the fair is designed as an interactive learning platform, not just an exhibition, giving students access to tools and technologies they may never have experienced in their schools or communities.
A high delegation of dignitaries, including the Western North Regional Minister and other government officials, traditional leaders, and education stakeholders, are expected to attend the fair.
The fair is being organised in collaboration with the Western North Regional Ghana Education Service, with support from Asante Gold Bibiani Limited, Asante Gold Chirano Limited, Ghana Bauxite Company Ltd, K.P.S Company Ltd, Solani Global Ltd, DK Korankye Company Ltd, and PM Group of Companies.
Facilitators for the fair have been drawn from Kumasi Hive, IoT Network Hub, Yamoransa Model Lab 8, Zipline Ghana, and arm, among others.
With growing interest from schools and communities, the Ogyeahoho Science & Tech Fair is positioning Western North as a rising hub for STEM education and innovation.
