A vice chairman of the National Democratic Congress has expressed utter disappointment with the resignation of Dr. Sekou Nkrumah from the party. Alhaji Said Sinare who was instrumental in luring the son of Ghana’s first president into the NDC and Ghana politics told Joy News Dr Nkrumah’s days in politics are over following his decision to resign from the party. He said Dr. Nkrumah has lost his credibility and will no longer be taken seriously. Dr. Sekou Nkrumah announced his resignation citing bad leadership by the Mills-led government. But Said Sinare who is not surprised by the decision said he is disappointed. According to him, many of the criticisms by Dr. Nkrumah against President John Mills were uncalled for and were wrong. Whilst acknowledging the role played by Dr. Nkrumah to get the NDC into power, Said intimated that Dr Nkrumah misconduct himself by criticizing the health of President Mills. “It’s a dooms day for him. That’s his end in terms of his political career. I don’t see him moving forward at all. What is he going to tell the people of this country? That he is going to move from the CPP and move to the NDC and move back to the NPP this time?” he quizzed. “...He has really disappointed a lot of people. Honestly, I wish he is listening to me. I am really personally very disappointed and I am not surprised with what he did today." Asked why he is disappointed with him Said said: “I have been disappointed with him from day one," citing the critical comments made by Dr. Nkrumah on President Mills' health. “Sekou is finished politically because nobody is going to take him seriously,” he stressed. He advised Dr. Nkrumah to pursue other private enterprise and forget about politics all together. But a political science lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Kwesi Amakye disagreed with the assertion by Said Sinare. He described Sinare’s comments as pregnant with “personal emotions” saying, Dr. Nkrumah knows best what is good for him.
