The Chairman of SIC Insurance, Max Cobbina together with five other board members have stepped down. The directors announced their decision at the company’s annual General Meeting last week. The others include, TOR boss, Ato Ampiah , Kingsley Awuah-Darko and Yvonne Osei Tutu. The rest are Dr. Vitus Anaab-Bisi and Dr. Kofi Amoah who earned his position of the board because he was the largest individual shareholder in SIC and also a request by some of the shareholders to represent their interest on the board.
The development leaves only three members on the nine member board, including the MD, Doris Awo Nkani. For the union workers of SIC, Mr. Cobbina’s decision to step down, might come as a big relief especially, at a time that they have been pushing for him to step aside.
