Nigerian Gospel singer, Osinachi Okoro has become the first African to top Billboard’s Christian Songwriters Chart.
Sinach, as she is popularly called, has been leading the chart for seven weeks now.
Many fans have attributed her influence to the success of her music Way Maker and the numerous covers popular gospels acts in the states have done on it.
‘Way Maker,’ originally released in 2016, recently gained massive popularity following performances by The Elevation Worship and other Christian rock bands based in the US.
Taking to Twitter to share the news, Sinach said she was unaware she had been leading the Billboard chart.
"So apparently We have been No 1 on Billboard USA for Christian songwriter for 7 weeks !! Look at God!! First Black person. First from Africa ... So grateful to God!! Thank you @billboard#loveworld @joe_egbu @integritymusic #waymaker #sponsoredbygrace," Sinach wrote.
