It has been revealed that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the country have low online presence. That is according to a survey by an Accra-based technology company Webone Studios.
The research led by the creative head and CEO of the company Mr. Herbert Yaw Odoom said: “In the first quarter of the year 2014, we realized that many SMEs have low patronage and presence online due to lack of understanding of the internet.”
He added that SME owners do not understand the essence of owning either a website or social media campaign page for their products.
He explained that his company does this survey in order to find solutions to how they can help SMEs improve their productivity and market value in this internet focused world.
According to Mr. Herbert, “if SMEs are given proper training and teaching, and are made to understand the internet and how it works their presence will boost drastically”.
Webone Studios have been offering consultancy services to SMEs on why and when they need to own a website.
