UK-based Ghanaian gospel musician, Sonnie Badu has called for a re-match between Bukom Banku and Bastie Samir.
The musician said he will love to see the two boxers take to the ring again after their well-patronized bout on Saturday, October 21.
Bastie Samir stopped Bukom Banku in round 7 of their scheduled 12 round non-title bout in front of a huge crowd at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
It was the first defeat, a humiliating one at that, in the career of the popular fighter, who is a former WBO Africa Cruiserweight champion.
Bukom Banku simply struggled to find his feet during most parts of the bout.
Born Briamah Kamoko, the boxer, who had promised to knock out the Bastie in the 6th round, was no match for him.
Sonnie Badu, in a post on Instagram, said: “I will love to see a re match !! And how BANKU will come back…”
He gave Bukom Banku props for making Ghanaians fall in love with boxing again.
“However, on a serious note BOKOM Banku is making all of us fall in love with Ghana Boxing all over again .. 💪ðŸ¾ðŸ’ªðŸ¾ðŸ’ªðŸ¾ðŸ’ªðŸ¾ðŸ’ªðŸ¾ .. congrat to the GBA for putting this together.. #DrBadu #GhanaBoxing,” the ‘Baba’ singer added.
Both boxers have indicated their readiness to face each other again in the ring.
