National Democratic Congress (NDC) Professionals Forum (ProForum), has presented a citation to the Speaker of Parliament, (2021-2024), Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to democracy, governance, and development in Ghana.
ProForum, an activist group of the National Democratic Congress, also noted that as a Member of Parliament, Minister, and Speaker of Parliament, Mr Bagbin had demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to the development of Ghana.
"His remarkable career has been marked by numerous achievements, including his role as Majority Leader in Parliament and Minister for Health," Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley, the Global President, ProFourm said on Saturday at the award ceremony held in Parliament, Accra.

The citation acknowledged Speaker Bagbin's selfless dedication to democracy and parliamentary practice in Ghana. It said his leadership had ensured that the voices of the people were heard, and the rule of law was upheld.
"…. As a champion of democracy, Speaker Bagbin's commitment to transparency, accountability, and service to the nation is exemplary. His tireless efforts have made the Parliament of Ghana a beacon of democracy, not only in Ghana but in Africa and the Commonwealth," it said.
Further, the citation recognised Speaker Bagbin's pivotal leadership in driving national development through meaningful debates, critical legislation, and checks and balances, adding that "he has surmounted challenges with steadfastness and commitment, maintaining law, order, and progress in Ghana."
The NDC ProForum expressed heartfelt appreciation for Mr Bagbin's remarkable contributions to governance and development in Ghana. They pledged to continue supporting his efforts and working together to build a better Ghana.
Mr Bagbin's impressive career spans over three decades, with extensive experience in Ghanaian politics.
He has served as a Member of Parliament, Minister, and now Speaker of Parliament, making him an invaluable asset to the party.
In his response, Mr Bagbin thanked the ProForum team for the honour bestowed on him and promised to uphold the high tenets and principles of parliamentary democratic proceedings.
