The Speaker of Parliament Joyce Banford Addo will act as president when President John Mills leaves for Nigeria at 7 am Wednesday.
The President is due to travel to Nigeria. Vice President John Mahama is already in the Czech Republic for an investment forum.
In the absence of the two from the jurisdiction, the constitution requires the speaker to be sworn in to act.
The oath was administered Tuesday by the Chief Justice Mrs. Theodora Georgina Wood in Parliament.
It is the second time in less than two months that Mrs. Joyce Bamford Addo is stepping in as president.
The Minority MPs, however, raised issue with the timing of the swearing in ceremony.
They contended it is wrong for Mrs Bamford Addo to be sworn in while the president is still in the country.
They insisted she can only be sworn in to act just when the president is about to depart the jurisdiction.
