The Speaker of Parliament, Mr Ebenezer Sekyi-Hughes, has visited traders who lost their properties in the March 15 Takoradi Central Market fire outbreak. The traders whose stores, stalls and sheds were damaged told him that they were prepared to rebuild their structures. Mr Sekyi-Hughes’ visit was to inspect the extent of damage at the Takoradi market. Speaking on behalf of the women, Mrs. Mavis Tagoe, a victim of the fire, said they would begin re-construction if the Shama Ahanta East Metropolitan Assembly (SAEMA) would re-demarcate the structures to them. Mr. Anthony E. Amoah, the Western Regional Minister, assured the women that the committee to investigate the cause of the fire would submit its report on April 12 after which the government would decide on what action to take on the market.
