The Special Development Initiatives Ministry has dispelled allegations by the National Democratic Congress that the one village one dam (1V1D) projects in parts of the Northern Region have dried up.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry’s Communication Officer, Kabore Awudu, the small earth dams cited by the NDC have yet to be completed and cannot, therefore, be used as a reference to say the Akufo-Addo's administration is deceiving Ghanaians of has failed in delivering on his promise.
“The Nakpachie and Adibo dams are part of the uncompleted small earth dams that never harvested water during the last raining season."
This follows a press conference organized by the NDC, where its National Communication Officer, Sammy Gyamfi said the 1V1D projects championed by Madam Koomson's Ministry have let the northern communities in the country down by constructing 'substandard excavated ponds' rather than 'proper small-scale irrigation dams'.
