The Executive Director of the West African Network for Peace Building, Mr Emmanuel Bombandey, says the Northern region should be divided into three to make it manageable.Speaking in an interview with Joy News, Mr Bombandey said the large size of the region has necessitated such request so that the region becomes well developed. He said the current state of the Northern region makes it impossible for the regional coordinating councils to run it effectively. He said when the request is granted it would also help solve the region’s numerous conflicts and promote good governance.Mr Bombandey said it would also ensure that the various ethnic groups in the region take active part in the decentralisation process.
