Ghanaian journalists have been urged to prepare for the excitement and challenges that come with reporting on the biggest football event. This was made known to teeming sports journalists at a one day workshop held in Accra. The rationale is to inculcate in the journalists the sense of professionalism and to improve standards with just two weeks to the start of Africa’s first World Cup in South Africa. The workshop saw celebrated journalist like, Mr. Joe Lartey and Sports Writer’s Association President Ackah Antony sharing knowledge with participants.Celebrated journalist and former Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Joe Aggrey told Joy Sports he is positive the event will improve standards.“Most people are talking about falling standards and I believe the only way to address that decline is to organize programmes like we have just had so that people will be better educated on certain issues. He expressed reservations with the quality of commentary by sports journalists in the country and hope the workshop will go a long way to improve standards.Source: Joy Sports/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
