The Executive Chairman, of King Faisal Football club in Kumasi, George Amoako, is pledging his support for the new Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah.
The football administrator, who served as CEO for Kotoko from 2017 to 2020 during the final three years of Dr Kwame Kyei's administration, said he has gone past all the worse at Kotoko and is now focusing on his new role as Executive Chairman of King Faisal.
Mr Amoako describes his tenure at Kotoko as his worst in his seven-time-history with the club but says he wants to focus on the future.
“Whatever happened is past and gone. I am now concentrating all my brains on making King Faisal tick. That is what I want to use my time and energies on and not to think about the past,” George Amoako informed Nhyira Power Sports.
However, according to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council Member, he is willing to extend any form of backing to Nana Yaw Amponsah in his stint with the Porcupines.
“Nana Yaw Amponsah is my younger brother. If he asks me anything, I will willingly give him the advice and support. All the experience I have gained at Kotoko I will make it available to him but it is up to him to take it but I can’t give all my concentration on that project.
"I want to concentrate the rest of my life on what I can do for King Faisal and that is it, and not to talk about Kotoko,” he said.
George Amoako who is an Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association was relieved of his duties as the club's CEO by the 12-member board that was appointed by the life patron of the club, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
