Staff from Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC spent time with children with special needs at the Autism Awareness Care and Training Centre as part of the Bank’s Employee Volunteering programme.
Good Deeds Day is part of the Bank’s Follow the Sun initiative under its Employee Volunteering programme.
This provides staff the opportunity to go out and give something back to the community. Do a good deed to make a difference in the lives of people in our communities.
Staff go out and do anything that supports this good cause such as donating blood, planting trees or picking up litter.
The volunteers engaged the children in various activities specially tailored to their interests and abilities. The Good Deeds Day also left a profound mark on the employee volunteers.
Through the interaction, they gained a deeper understanding of children with special needs especially autism, building empathy and compassion in the process.
Standard Chartered's commitment to giving back to the community and creating an inclusive society falls under the Prosperous Communities lever in its Diversity and Inclusion drive.
Employees volunteer and use their skills and talent to advance delivery models for education, employability & education among others.
