Domestic airline Starbow has been cleared to resume full operations after a comprehensive safety inspection was conducted on its fleets.

The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) had to temporarily suspend flights from the airline following an emergency landing of one of its fleets which was Takoradi bound.

Two persons sustained minor injuries during evacuation from the flight which was said to have developed hydraulic faults.

After days of inspection of its fleets the GCAA has cleared the airline to resume normal operations.

At a press conference in Accra, Tuesday, the Director General of the GCAA, Abdulai Alhassan said the Authority had to ground all three fleets for a comprehensive inspection.

"We came in to protect public interest," he said, adding, after one week, the safety inspectors were deployed to conduct a thorough inspection of the fleets are convinced the airline is safe to resume full operations.

CEO of Starbow airlines, James Eric Antwi welcomed the GCAA’s decision.

In a press statement, the airline said it would resume its operations with the afternoon flight to Kumasi on November 4, 2014.

The statement touted the airline's integrity, operations  and maintenance procedures, adding, " Starbow aircraft are regularly maintained and serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and as such duly endorsed and approved by the GCAA."

"We would like to reassure our customers and the general public that safety and security has been our main concern and we will not compromise on these values. We would also like to extend our profound gratitude to our cherished customers and dedicated trade partners for their patience and solidarity during this phase in our operations."
