The Black Stars of Ghana has been handed a tricky draw and will face Mali in Group D.
The favourites of next year's Nations Cup also have Guinea and Botswana to battle with in the same group.
The draw conducted in Equatorial Guinea capital, Malabo on Saturday 29th October also saw co-favourites Ivory Coast in Group B along side Angola, Burkina Faso, Sudan.
The competition kicks off on January 21 and will end on February 12, 2012.
2012 Africa Cup of Nations draw is as follows;
Group A (Bata)
Equatorial Guinea, Zambia, Senegal, Libya
Group B (Malabo)
Ivory Coast, Angola, Burkina Faso, Sudan
Group C (Libreville)
Gabon, Tunisia, Morocco, Niger
Group D (Franceville)
Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Botswana
