On behalf of Ghana's New Patriotic Party (NPP), and on my own behalf, I join millions across the world in congratulating President Barack Obama on his re-election by the American people as president of the United States of America. The peaceful, transparent election of 6th November, 2012 is an exemplary demonstration of the quality of America's democracy, which continues to be a beacon of free democratic engagement for democrats across the globe, especially in Africa.
His victory is an acknowledgement by the American people of his record of strong leadership at a time of America's economic difficulties which is beginning to yield positive results for the American people, his determination to ensure fairness and equity in the operation of America's health and educational systems and his clear vision of America's role in the world in the changed circumstances of the 21st Century.
All people of African descent continue to be proud of his work and principled leadership. He remains an inspiration to all of us.
It is our hope and expectation that President Obama will continue to foster and deepen the warm relationship he and the American people have with the people of Ghana and Africa.
We wish him lasting success and God's blessings on him and his family.
God bless the United States of America. God bless Ghana and Africa.
Congratulations President Barack Obama.
……Signed……
Nana Akufo-Addo
2012 NPP Presidential Candidate
