It is very sad and unfortunate that live music, since the emergence of Hiplife, has lost its popularity. No wonder, Ghanaian music has lost its touch; that is the quality to break through the international market. Miming is gradually replacing live music.
Rushing to the aid of sinking live music in Ghana is one of the finest gospel music ministers the country has ever produced.
Her voice is undeniably dissimilar. What distinguishes this album from all others is the fact that it is very suitable for one’s daily quite time, especially when they begin to worship God. It will encourage the listener into worship when played in the background.
Stella Aba Seal has done what many musicians including secular artistes are still “groping in the dark” with. The internationally acclaimed gospel musician has recorded a 51-minute spirit-filled live music, which has been released onto the market under Rescue Media Productions, based in Accra.
The inspirational album, “Odo Moroso” features 19 soul-touching songs, some of which were gradually fading. Another astonishing feature about the album is the video. It is beyond excellence and is incomparable with most of these gospel music videos we see on our screens.
Some of the songs on the soul inspiring album include, “Yehowah Ye Kronkron”, “Nyame Ben Ni” and “Kyerew Wasem “, with the title track being “Odo Moroso”.
With the backing of some seasoned gospel musicians in the country, Stella Aba Seal pours out her heart to God not for the things He does for her but for His awesomeness. In one of the songs, she expresses the awesome nature of God by saying “He is greater than all, He is greater than all. Jesus who was crucified... We lie prostrate at your feet and worship you, Lamb of God, you are greater than all”.
Moved by the power of God during the worship, Stella falls to the ground in awe of God and then begins to express His holiness.
The 51-minute compilation, which is also available on VCD and CDs, is Stella’s eleventh successful album. It has since been released onto the market by Rescue Media. Stella Aba Seal was born to a Ghanaian mother and a British/Cameroonian father in the early sixties. The silky gospel diva hails from Anum Boso in the Eastern Region though born in Accra.
She has won several awards in the country and beyond, with the most recent one being the Best Female Vocal Performance for the year 2006. The award was given to her by Charter House Productions, organisers of the prestigious Ghana Music Awards.
The award was received on her behalf by Kwesi Ernest, the General Secretary of the United Gospel Musicians Association when she was in Kuwait at the invitation of some Christian Organisations.
