Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy has been adjudged the 2015 Black Entertainment Television Awards (BET) Awards Best International Act: Africa.
The dancehall artiste, who was adjudged Artiste of the Year at 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, beat Ghanaian counterpart Sarkodie and some of Africa’s biggest acts to win the award.
The other nominees in that category were AKA (South Africa), Fally Ipupa (DR Congo), Sauti Sol (Kenya), The Soil (South Africa), Wizkid (Nigeria) and Yemi Alade (Nigeria).
Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla, received the award at a short ceremony which preceded the main awards Sunday.
The stars of the ‘Baafira’ hit singer are truly shinning bright this year and the BET Award is an impressive reward to his relentless dedication to his craft.
It is six months into the year and the dancehall artiste has bagged four awards, three of them being local awards – Artiste of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year and Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year.
With the BET Award out of the way, the Ashaiman-based musician will hope to add more international awards to his trophy shelf.
He has been nominated for the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEA), and the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA).
Shortly after winning the award, Sarkodie, who won the BET Award in 2012, tweeted a photograph of Stonebwoy receiving his award with the caption: “And GHANA Won !!!!!!!!!!!!! @stonebwoyb”

And GH got it 🔥🔥🔥🔥 @stonebwoyb #BETAwards
