Mr George Opare-Addo, Akuapem North District Chief Executive (DCE), has asked supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to stop complaining about the performance of the government.
He said if the supporters did not stop that attitude, it would enable NDC political opponents to criticise the government of not doing well.
Mr Opare-Addo was addressing delegates at Okere NDC Constituency election at Okrakwadwo near Adukrom.
He expressed worry that just 10 months in office, the "undertones and statements of some members of the party were not encouraging" and if not checked could undermine the chances of the party in Election 2012."
The DCE said that things had to be put right before Ghanaians could enjoy the benefits of the government.
Mr Opare-Addo said that the style of President John Evans Atta Mills was to follow due process and accountability in realizing the "Better Ghana".
He urged the delegates to vote for people who had sacrificed for the NDC to enable them to continue with their good works and not to elect people with "heavy financial background".
The election, which was organized by the Electoral Commission (EC), saw the incumbent constituency chairman, Mr Douglas Adjei and seven others retaining their positions unopposed whiles six executive members were elected.
The newly elected executive included Mr Ransford Yeboah- Treasurer, Mr Dan Ayim Adu-Propaganda Secretary, Mr Bismark Larbi- Secretary, Mr Francis Geli, Organizer, Ms Faustina Anobeah, Deputy Women's Organizer and Mr Samuel Ansah Ayeh, Youth Organizer.
Mr Tawiah Boateng, Eastern Regional Organizer of the NDC, thanked the delegates for the peaceful and mature manner they went about the elections.
He told them that the President was aware of their problems and would not disappoint them.
Mr Boateng reminded the new executive that the success of the NDC depended on party activities at the grassroots.
