A student at Nkwanta Senior High School in the Oti Region has died under tragic circumstances.
The incident occurred around midday when the student was struck by a stray bullet while writing his mock examination.
In response to this development, basic schools in the area have been closed to ensure the safety of both students and staff.
JoyNews' Peter Senoo spoke with one of the teachers fleeing the volatile situation in the municipality.
The teacher, who requested anonymity, gave an account to correspondent Peter Senoo.
It is unclear how the firearm went off or where it came from.
