A final year student of the Tamale School of Hygiene has been reported dead, after she was run over during a float organized by the student’s leadership on Tuesday, as part of activities to mark the school’s seventh sanitation week celebration.
The deceased, Sarah Yenuloom, a 25-year-old final year student was reported to have attempted jumping onto the vehicle; an American Low Loader which was being used for the float, and in the process slipped under the vehicle and the rear tyre run over her.ASP Nana Kumi, Northern Regional Commander of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit, confirmed the incident to the GNA in Tamale and said the driver of the vehicle, Ibrahim Alhassan, was in police custody pending further investigations.Source: GNA
