Tamale North Member of Parliament (MP), Alhassan Suhuyini, has been appointed as the new Ranking Member on the Lands and Natural Resources Committee following reshuffles in Parliamentary Committees on Tuesday, July 16.
These changes came after the House adopted the report on the composition of the membership of Select and Standing committees.
Mr. Suhuyini, who previously served as the Deputy Ranking Member, was promoted by the Minority Caucus in recognition of his performance on the committee.
In other changes, Samuel Atta Akyea, the former Chairman of the Mines and Energy Committee, now chairs the Local Government and Rural Development Committee.
Emmanuel Akwasi Gyamfi, who formerly held a similar position in the Local Government Committee, has taken over as head of Atta Akyea’s previous committee.
Additionally, Patrick Yaw Boamah, the legislator for Okaikwei Central, is now the Chairman of the Finance Committee.
North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Government Assurances Committee.
Several other committees have also undergone changes, with committee sizes being reduced to enhance productivity.
