Ghana’s premier 4G LTE network, Surfline Communications Ltd, has officially extended its operations to the Western Regional capital, Takoradi.
The company launched its 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) services in the Western Regional capital, on Tuesday, 6th October 2015. This would be the second after Accra/Tema where it started commercial operations in August 2014.
4G LTE data networks provide mobile ultra-broadband internet access, giving customers the most seamless experience in data services. It allows users to access the internet with speeds up to 10x faster than other services currently offered in the country.
Surfline’s commencement of commercial activities in Takordi offers huge prospects for relevant businesses, individuals and institutions in respect of internet access.
For businesses (SME’s and large corporations), Surfline is to offer bespoke solutions to enable them able to transfer huge files faster, participate in seamless video calls and conferences, conduct easy and fast systems back-ups, access remote back office applications easily and many other important web based functions.
For educational and health institutions, the 4G services offer them an opportunity to amplify their services to a wider array of patrons beyond their geographic locations.
Individual consumers would also have an improved internet connectivity to the world of entertainment and social media at unprecedented speeds and efficiency.

Surfline which is 100% owned by Ghanaians has partnered world class service providers like Huawei, Alcatel-Lucent, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle to deliver world class services to its customers. Though its operated for just a year, the 4G-LTE service provider has been recognized by several award institutions including Afri-Comm Awards 2014, South Africa which nominated it in the ‘Best LTE deployment’ category.
The Ghana Telecom Awards also recognized it as the best LTE provider, 2014 after receiving nominations in 6 categories whilst Top Brands Ghana also awarded it the Best Emerging Brand in 2014.
The Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana has also recognized 4G-LTE operator as Emerging Brand of the Year, 2014, Internet Service Provider of the Year, 2014 and Best Product of the Year, 2014.
