Ghana’s first 4G LTE network, Surfline Communications is gearing up to expand its coverage beyond Accra next year.
Chief Commercial Officer of the company, Justice Taylor told Journalists “we are definitely expanding beyond Accra from next year but we will announce the exact areas we are going to be by the close of first quarter next year.”
Speaking at the launch of the company's Christmas Holiday promo dubbed “SURFPrise End of Year Promo”, Justice Taylor said the expansion would come with other exciting features which will enable customers to watch TV online and enjoy other entertainment content in real time.
Meanwhile, under the SurfPrise promo, new customers on Surfline will be welcomed with a ton of surprises, commensurate with the giving, gifting and sharing spirit which characterizes Christmas and New Year holidays.
Marketing Director at Surfline, Rosy Fynn told Journalists new customers will, upon buying a qualifying data bundle, get a free 4G LTE enabled device, with bonus data each time they purchase a data bundle from Surfline.
“The qualifying data bundles come with up to 100% bonus for life. This means the lowest qualifying bundle, which is 5G comes with a 50% bonus, 10G comes with 75% bonus while anything from 20G upwards come with 100% bonus," she explained.
Additionally, throughout the month of December, one lucky customer will walk away with a 4G LTE enabled tablet each week; but during the Christmas week itself (22nd to 28th December, 2014) Surfline would be giving away a 4G LTE enabled tablet daily.
Rosy Fynn said for existing Surfline customers who have lost their benefits from the launch offer due to inactivity, the SURFprise promo provides another window to enjoy bonus data for life, adding that customers only need to purchase a qualifying bundle during the promo period.
“We run out of devices at some point during the first four months of our operations but now we can assure you that we have enough devices in stock – routers, mi-fi, dongles and wringles to forestall any shortage,” he said.
The Surfline Marketing Director said customers who activated their devices outside of the launch promo and so could not enjoy the benefits of receiving double data, can now receive bonuses for life once they activate a new bundle during the period of the promotion.
She said “The Christmas season comes with lots of activities that need reliable internet. For the fun lovers, this is the time to go light and connect with people who matter and to make the most of the season.
For businessmen and women, it is time to wrap up the year’s business activities. Families can also spend more time with each other, even if far apart through Surfline’s services. For us at Surfline, we are delighting our customers in the spirit of the season and empowering them with free data to do all these, relying on superfast Surfline 4G LTE internet speed”.
The SURFprise promo will run from 1st December 2014 to 31st January, 2015.
Surfline recently got a US$30million facility from a South African-based investor, but officials of Surfline said the facility was not for the purchase of shares so the company still remains 100% Ghanaian-owned.
It was recently nominated for an international brand, and has also been confirmed as winner of the Best Emerging Brand in Ghana by Brands Ghana.
