Takoradi Polytechnic has won another international award for best Quality Management Practices in 2013.
The award will be presented by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR) based in Lausanne, Switzerland at its Convention in Vienna, Austria.
This latest award brings to a total of five such international awards and recognition won by Takoradi Polytechnic between 2012 and 2013. These include the “Best Regional Polytechnic 2013” award in Science and Education by the Europe Business Assembly (EBA) based in Oxford, United Kingdom and the recognition by WEBOMATICS as the “Best Polytechnic in Ghana” for the years 2012 and 2013.
WEBOMATICS is the largest public research body known for its scientific methods in web ranking of universities in the world. The other award is the “Best Ghanaian Tertiary Institution in Examination Ethics” award by the Exams Ethics Marshalls International in 2012.
The ESQR awards are given to selected companies and institutions from Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa and Australia in recognition of their outstanding commitment, support and results in quality management practices.
In a statement issued by the Executive Director of ESQR, Dr. A. Arista, the award is in recognition of the Polytechnic’s commitment to best practices in improving the working conditions and career development of staff and students as well as its enhanced quality research strategies for the benefit of the Ghanaian society and the economy
The European Society for Quality Research (ESQR) conducted a thorough study on the Polytechnic by considering its quality improvement techniques and scientific research efforts that held remarkable potential contributions in the field of manufacturing, industry, commerce and quality services that impact on the economic development of the nation.
The ESQR award recognizes individual organization’s distinctive performance improvement and organizational excellence and encourages managers to share their best practices, experience and knowledge with others.
The Quality Achievements Awards, run by the European Society for Quality Research, also highlights outstanding commitment to business results, best practices, quality awareness and achievements by companies in regional and global institutional management.
On his part, the Rector of Takoradi Polytechnic, Rev. Prof. Daniel Nyarko, stressed on the Polytechnic’s commitment to adopting the best global standards in the field of quality and excellence in human resource education and training.
“Takoradi Polytechnic is dedicated to achieving excellence through adopting comprehensive quality research, which fulfills the institution’s core mandate and the aspirations of industries in Ghana”, he emphasized.
