The IGP Special Operations Team, led by DSP Bawah Abdul Jalil, has been commended by Gulkpe Naa Alhaj Alhassan Abdullai for its efforts in combating crime in the Tamale Metropolis.
The team met with the Chief and elders at the Chief’s Palace in Tamale, where they discussed security developments and the impact of the team’s operations.

The traditional authorities praised the team for its professionalism and commitment to fighting crime, particularly in tackling drug abuse and related offences.
They said there had been a significant reduction in criminal activities such as armed robbery, rape, and attacks on mobile money vendors, attributing this improvement to the team’s intensified operations.

In appreciation, Gulkpe Naa Alhaj Alhassan Abdullai and his elders donated a bull and two 50kg bags of rice to the team, acknowledging their dedication and sacrifices in restoring calm and order to the community.
The leader of the IGP Special Operations Team, DSP Bawah Abdul Jalil, said the team has intensified patrols and security operations, which will continue uninterrupted until January 1, 2026, to ensure maximum security during the New Year transition.
