Tamale City, who were on the receiving end of fan-led attacks in their away league match with Aduana FC, are dissatisfied with the sanction imposed on the club by the Ghana FA.
Isaac Mensah, a winger with Tamale City, sustained an injury to his eye after he was hit by a stone pelted at the team bus, and was amongst Tamale City players who sustained injuries from the attack.
Hamza Mohammed, head coach of the club threatened reprisal attacks on Aduana if authorities involved failed to react to the violence - and the FA reacted.
However, it seems the Tamale-based club is dissatisfied with the sanction.
"We have experienced this even less than a year ago from the same region. What I'm saying is that we will advise ourselves - they deserve whatever punishment they are getting [but] this is the second time this is happening.
"Our bus has been destroyed. The four matches or whatever won't bring our bus back. The suffering we faced in Tamale won't happen again. If safe measures are not taken, we will continue to advise ourselves," Hamza said to JoySports.
The FA’s competitions department will determine a venue for Aduana’s subsequent home games, while Tamale City's next away fixture will be in Accra - up against Great Olympics.
