Mr Mustapha Sanah, Executive Chairman of Northern Ghana Aid (NOGAID), an NGO, has congratulated Dr Daniel Asare, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

He said the criteria of competence, capacity to deliver, experience in hospital management and flexibility to adjust to new people as a basis for his qualifications to the position was heartwarming.

Mr Sanah was speaking to the press at the sidelines of a day's workshop on good governance in Tamale, organised by NOGAID for some selected Unit Committee and Assembly members in the Northern Region.

The workshop was aimed at deepening the understanding of qualitative local governance, inclusive and participatory democracy of the Unit Committee and Assembly members.

He praised Dr Okoe Boye's, Member of Parliament for Ledzorkuku Krowor led Board for their bold decision to engage Dr Asare, indicating that the future Board of the Teaching Teaching Hospital (TTH) must emulate this shining example.

"I know Dr Boye and he is very tough. Our nation's leadership must rest in the hands of people who can make good decisions for the entire benefit of all Ghanaians," he said.

The NOGAID Boss cautioned activists of the New Patriotic Party in the Northern Regions, especially, those attacking the THH  to desist from the lawless action.

"The leaders of Tamale are getting worried about the negative behaviour of our youth irrespective of their political affiliations. NDC youth did it and NPP youth are now doing it. Whichever party is voted into office, their youth think they have a blank cheque for lawlessness, we shall work with the security agencies and government to deal with this lawlessness," he said.

He said Korle-Bu was the nation's final referral hospital and was happy that facility was getting back to work and praised Dr Boye for his remarkable leadership.

“TTH feeds cases to Korle-Bu so we need an equal level of leadership at the TTH to address the plethora of challenges at the facility," he said.

According to Mr Sanah, the Eminent Leaders of Tamale were ready to support the government to make the hospital work again, indicating that healthcare delivery was the place to make politicking since sickness is no respecter of party colouration.
