Kwasi Oppong, a teacher of the Holy Ghost International School in Kumasi, has been remanded by a Kumasi Circuit Court for possessing the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) agriculture papers one and two and distributing them before the paper was written.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge and will re-appear on June 6.
His accomplice, Bernard Darko Okyere, also a teacher at the Blessing International School at Tafo in Kumasi is on the run.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Regina Kesewaah told the court that on April 25, while the BECE was going on, police were informed that Oppong had in his possession the agriculture examination papers that would be written in the afternoon of the same day.
She said Oppong, who was an invigilator, made photocopies and distributed them with Okyere to some invigilators in the Kumasi metropolis.
Police arrested him in a taxicab and seized from him a black polythene bag he was holding and found in it copies of the examination papers but Okyere escaped.
Oppong told police that Okyere gave them to him.
