Agbetsiafa Afatsiaw, 80, a herbalist and a native of Akatsi in South Tongu District and resident at Breman-Asantem, near Breman-Asikuma in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District has been arrested and placed in police custody for causing the death of a teenager who took a concoction he had prepared.
Agbetsiafa, who is on provisional charge of murder, would appear before the court on July 24, 2007.
His plea was not taken pending further investigation.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Gershon Mawuyeh told the Breman-Asikuma Magistrate Court, presided over by Miss Cynthia Hammond that on June 28, this year, one Opanyin Kojo reported the missing of his 500,000 cedis and suspected Kofi Beyeden, 14, now deceased and two others.
The Prosecutor said the three were arraigned before the herbalist who prepared concoction for them to take resulting in the death of the boy.
Meanwhile the body has been sent to Cape Coast Central Hospital for post mortem while the police have taken custody of the drugs used to prepare the concoction.Source: GNA
