The Manhean Youth Achievers Awards aimed at promoting best practices and excellence in youth creativity has been held in Tema.
The awards under the auspices of the Tema Youth Achievers Foundation is to recognize and encourage the youth especially in Tema to make a positive impact in society.
The talented young men and women who excelled in education, social and community work, politics, music, sports, entertainment, business and religion received plagues for their dedicated service to the town.
Others personalities who have contributed to the development of the town were also given a citation in recognition of their hard work.
Founder of Tema Youth Achievers Foundation, Albert Mantey Tetteh, said the award was created as a platform to showcase talents in Tema Manhean to improve their leadership abilities to ultimately play meaningful roles in society.
He indicated that as a non-governmental organization based in Tema Manhean, their focus is to mentor the youth to develop positive attitudes towards nation building.
Albert Tetteh underscored the need youth for Ghanaian youth to showcase talents to improve their leadership abilities to play meaningful roles in society.
“It’s our time to wake up motivate ourselves and do more to make Ghana a place worth living” he added.
On the way forward, Mr. Tetteh said they intend the replicate the award scheme in other communities to encourage the youth across the country to contribute their quota to nation building.
“We will embark on sensitization programmes like youth empowerment summits to encourage school dropout to go back to school, clean up exercises especially at the beaches and donation to some orphanages” he stated.
