After the successful hosting of the President's Putter last week, the Tema Country Golf Club says it would take a three-week break and resume action with the March Medal Championship on Saturday, March 29.
Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Chief Executive Officer of the Club, told GNA Sports at Tema on Friday, that the event which is open to amateur golfers throughout the Greater Accra Region, is expected to attract more than 120 participants.
He said the competition would be played in accordance with the local rules of the Club and that of the World's Golf Governing body.
The Chief Executive Officer said that plans were very far advanced to ensure that the necessary infrastructure was put in place for the competition.
Mr Adablanu said that this year the Club is expected to host many competitions and asked for the support of all members to enable the Club realize its dream of staging successful events.
Crack golfers expected to be in action include Joshua Peprah, winner of the 2007 Captain's Prize and Kojo Choi, the February Medal Champion.
There would be prizes for the “Longest Drive on Hole 18”' and the “Nearest to the Pin on Hole 17”.
