A dispute over a parcel of land in the Mion Constituency of the Yendi Municipality is raising tensions between the people of Cho and Kpaachi.The people of the two communities are predominantly farmers in the Northern Region.
The dispute follows a decision of the people of Kpaachi to resume building houses in on the parcel of land which has been a subject of controversy between the two communities.The Yendi Municipal Security Committee gave an order to both communities to stay away from the land but the people of Kpaach are contravening the order.This contravention is serving as a blueprint for the tensions.The Yendi Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Mohammed Habib Tijani says his office is waiting for the outcome of a meeting between the feuding parties mediated by the overlord of Dagbon.
