The University College of Education, Winneba (Kumasi Campus) branch of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has donated a 4,500-litres capacity poly tank worth ¢6.5 million to the University.Mr Rich Martin Mills Yeboah, President of the TESCON, who made the presentation on Monday, said it was in line with its social responsibilities to complement the efforts of the University's administration and other bodies to solve the acute water problem on campus. He noted that students sometimes found it inconvenient and unbearable to visit places of convenience thereby making the work of the sanitary labourers on campus unbearable.Mr Yeboah called on all NPP sympathizers and supporters on campus who had not yet joined the TESCON to do so and become "part of the moving vehicle to help build a better TESCON on campus to uplift the good image of the NPP".Dr Steve Sobotie, Principal of the University, who received the tank said it had come at an opportune time and assured them that the students would make judicious use of it.He expressed gratitude to the TESCON and called on other bodies on campus to assist in diverse ways.Source: GNA
