Although many artistes say the church is unreceptive to them because of the secular nature of their music, Kuami Eugene has revealed that the case is different for him.
According to the 'Open Gate' hitmaker, his colleagues who are into gospel music and the church have been welcoming to him and his music after his performance at Adom Praize some years back.
“The numbers started from Adom Praiz and after that worship people got time to listen to my songs. The church really supports me,” he said on Hitz FM’s This Is Gospel.
Kuami Eugene said he believes the Artiste of the Year award he picked at the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), was made possible by the fans in the gospel fraternity.
The 'Wish Me Well' singer added that because of such a welcoming attitude he is always inspired to release music that people in the gospel fraternity can relate to.
“I was in church last week and the reception was amazing. When I was shooting for a song last week, most people stayed after church to shoot with me because they were excited Kuami Eugene was with them.”
Kuami Eugene recently released another song his fans with Gospel Singer Obaapa Christy 'Wa Ye Wie'.
