Accra’s hospitality landscape has welcomed a luxurious new addition with the official opening of The Pelican Hotel in Cantonments — a contemporary destination designed to redefine modern Ghanaian hospitality.
The grand launch, held this week, drew an audience of government officials, business leaders, and industry stakeholders, marking a proud milestone for Ghana’s growing tourism and real estate sectors.
Addressing guests at the ceremony, General Manager Philippe Hitti expressed his delight, describing the opening as “the realisation of a vision built on passion, precision, and a commitment to excellence.”
Representing the Office of the President, Mr Kofi Okyere-Darko, Director of Diaspora Affairs, praised the project, noting that “the opening of The Pelican Hotel reflects rising investor confidence in Ghana’s tourism sector and arrives perfectly in time for the ‘December in Ghana’ festivities.” He added that the establishment would contribute to job creation and skills development in the hospitality industry.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony featured notable figures, including Devtraco Group Founder Joseph Aidoo Snr, Aleph Hospitality Executive Director Neil George, Mr Hitti, and Mr Okyere-Darko. Guests were later given guided tours of the hotel’s rooms and facilities.
Mr George, speaking on behalf of Aleph Hospitality, said the goal behind The Pelican was to create “a sanctuary where authentic Ghanaian warmth meets modern sophistication.” He affirmed Aleph’s commitment to upholding international service standards across its growing African portfolio.
Guests enjoyed an elegant “Food Flying Service”, sampling the hotel’s diverse culinary offerings. The event ended with a lively networking session celebrating Accra’s dynamic hospitality scene.
Located in the prestigious Cantonments enclave, The Pelican Hotel offers 134 well-appointed rooms and suites, contemporary meeting facilities, and exceptional leisure amenities including a pool and fitness centre.
Its dining experiences are equally distinctive — The Atrium provides a relaxed lounge setting, The Beak Bistro serves global and Ghanaian favourites, while Mandarin Moon, set to open soon, will offer a refined Asian-inspired menu.
Owned by Devtraco Plus and managed by Aleph Hospitality, The Pelican Hotel blends comfort, elegance, and cultural authenticity, positioning itself as a symbol of Accra’s evolving luxury hospitality scene.
