The third edition of Champion bowl Championship ended over the weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium Tennis Court with Caleb Ayitey winning the under 12, Desmond Ayaaba also winning the 14, Reginald Okantey toping in the under 16, and also Johnson Acquah wining the under 18 category. Helena Hammond also won the ladies event as winners in the various age categories display Whizzo performance.
The competition, organized by Zion Management Africa Limited (ZMAL), targeted children between the ages of nine (9) and sixteen (16)years in a bid to revive the sport and also select young talents to represent the nation at the Champion Bowl World Championship from October 18 to 25 in Croatia later this year.
The competition drew participants from Osu, Kaneshie, Adabraka, Sakumono and Tema. Over 60 children participated in the singles Under 12 Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 boys and girls categories.

Winners, runners-up and semi-finalists were presented with trophies and souvenirs from sponsors.
The CEO of ZMAL, Mr. David Derhnick-Coffie, in a speech said: “Tennis, like other sports in the country, has the strength of uniting people from different backgrounds and it is for this reason that we seek to use the Champion Bowl Tennis Tournaments to restore juvenile tennis in Ghana”.
Special guest for the event was Nana Obeng Akrofi Darte I Baamuhene of kwahu mpraeso, Duputy President of National Sports Authority Saka Acquah, Director of Sports at the National Sports Authority Joshua Mensah and Mrs. Doreen Tetteh
Nana Obeng Akrofi Darte, thanked the organizers for the initiative, saying the country has very talented young tennis players, hence the need for more of such competitions to unearth them.

Mr. Joshua Mensah Director of Sports, took the opportunity to appeal to corporate Ghana to help tennis by providing support for such organizations when they come knocking on their doors.
This year’s Champion Bowl Championship was supported SicLife Company Ltd, Indomie Ghana, Melcom Group of Companies, Ocean Spring mineral Water and, Innolink Ghana.
