Three persons have so far picked nomination forms to contest the parliamentary primaries in the Asokwa constituency seat in Kumasi on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
They are the incumbent Member of Parliament, Mr Maxwell Kofi Jumah, Madam Patricia Appiagyei, Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive and Mr Baafi Boakye, Director of Nkosuo Radio Station in Kumasi.
Mr Asare Bediako, the Constituency Chairman, told the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi at the weekend that closing date for filing of nomination papers is March 31.
Mr Bediako said after filing their papers, the contestants would be vetted and later a date will be fixed for the constituency delegates’ conference to elect a candidate.
He appealed to supporters of the contestants to conduct their campaigns in a peaceful manner, devoid of intimidations in order not to divide the NPP family in the constituency.
