The Saltpond Municipal Police in the Central Region have arrested three men suspected to have exported substances believed to be Indian hemps to Cote d’voire.
The suspects were arrested at Biriwa in the Central Region when they were exporting the suspected substance, concealed in 25 bags, by canoe to Cote d’voire.
Joy News' Central regional correspondent, Richard Kwadwo Nyarko reported that, the suspects - Kwadwo Acquah, 42; Kwame Emmanuel, 29; Kwaku Acquah, 22; tried to bribe the police with an amount of GHc10,000 after their arrest.
DSP David Ashun, Saltpond Municipal Police Commander told Joy News that after an interrogation, the suspects "admitted ownership of the stuff."
The suspected substances, according to Saltpond Municipal Police Commander, is estimated to worth about GHc200,000.
DSP David Ashun said the suspects will be arraigned before court Tuesday and the substances will be sent to a forensic laboratory in Accra for further investigations.
