Three of the injured persons in the accident involving the Yutong bus at the center of the alleged mass rape story have reportedly absconded from hospital where they were receiving treatment.
It is unclear why they ran away from the Kintampo Municipal hospital.
A journalist with ADARS FM in Kintampo, Gideon Sarkodie, told Joy News about 25 people were admitted following the accident but many of them were discharged shortly after their admission.
Six persons were detained by the hospital authorities for further attention but three of them ran away.
Two of the severely injured persons involved in the accident have since been referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
Five people have already been confirmed dead in the accident including a second driver on the Yutong bus at the center of the alleged mass rape story.
Police say the bus was involved in a head-on collision with a truck heading from Burkina Faso.
Meanwhile the Brong Ahafo Regional Security Council is currently in Kintampo to assess the situation.
The Regional Minister Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo told Joy News the team wants to see the injured persons and the vehicles involved in the accident. “We want to see things for ourselves.”
