The Ghana Police Service has re-arrested 26-year-old TikToker Mahama Aminat, popularly known as “Bawumia Ba,” over an alleged case of offensive conduct.
The social media personality has been put before the Accra Circuit Court to answer the charge, while investigations into the matter continue.
According to the Police, the re-arrest forms part of ongoing efforts to investigate allegations surrounding content attributed to the TikToker.
She is expected to go through the legal process as authorities continue to gather further information.
Mahama Aminat previously came into the public spotlight following her activities on TikTok, where she shared political commentary and other social media content, earning her the nickname “Bawumia Ba” due to her perceived support for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Her arrest has generated discussions on social media, with some users calling for due process while others await the outcome of the court proceedings.
The Police Service has reiterated that investigations are ongoing and that the matter will be handled in accordance with the law.
The Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) first arrested Mahama Aminat in May 2026 after she was seen in videos circulating on TikTok making insulting comments about President John Mahama and allegedly issuing threats against his life and that of his wife, Lordina Mahama, while also encouraging others to engage in violent acts.
She was subsequently arraigned before the Accra Circuit Court 2 and granted bail in the sum of GH¢1 million with two sureties.
Under the bail conditions, one of the sureties must be a civil servant earning not less than GH¢5,000.
She was also required to deposit her passport or Ghana Card with the police and report regularly to investigative authorities as part of her bail terms.
