A 61-year-old Togolese who was arrested for concealing arms on a ceiling in his house was on Monday dragged to an Accra Circuit Court for possessing fire arms without authority.
Eklou Agodzo, whose plea was not taken was remanded into police
custody to reappear on March 10.Agodzo was alleged to have in possession eight AK 47 rifles, five
Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG), 27 AK 47 Magazines, five communication sets, two charges, two grenades fuses and two boxes each containing 20 grenades.
The facts as presented by Assistant Superintendent of Police George Abavelim were that Agodzo lives at East Kwabenya in Accra.
On February 29 this year, security personnel had a tip-off that
Agodzo had concealed the arms and ammunitions in his house and arrested him at the Kotoka International Airport on his way to France.
On March 1, this year, Agodzo was escorted to his house where he identified a portion of the ceiling in his house where he was keeping the arms.
