The National Theatre will host one of the city’s most talked about comedy events this October, as Tooli Junction presents “Obaakɛ vs Akwaaba,” a live comedy showcase organised by 4D Creative Consult.
The maiden edition takes place on Friday, October 10 at 7:00 PM and promises an evening of sharp satire, character-driven sketches and crowd-pleasing stand up.
The format pits two sides of Ghanaian humour against each other, exploring the country’s signature wit and warm social instincts through sketch work, political satire and short sets from some of the nation’s leading comic talents.
Headliners confirmed for the night include Jeffrey Nortey, Dr Likee and Akrobeto, with additional surprise guests expected from film, social media and the TikTok comedy scene.
Organisers describe Tooli Junction as an alternate comedy platform that blends mainstream appeal with experimental sketches and topical humour.
The event aims to give audiences an intimate theatre experience where comedians can stretch beyond short-form clips and deliver longer, character-driven pieces that reflect modern Ghanaian life.
Tickets are on sale now and organisers say they will be available through usual retail outlets and digital platforms.
Fans are encouraged to buy early as organisers expect strong demand for the first edition.
For sponsorship enquiries and more information call or WhatsApp 0208866554 or contact 4D Creative Consult on social media.
Attendees can also look forward to brand activations, giveaways and on-the-night promotions from event partners.
The show is pitched as a night for both casual comedy lovers and industry followers who want to see how Ghana’s newest voices perform on a formal stage.
Tooli Junction arrives at a moment when live comedy in Ghana is expanding beyond club rooms and online sketches into full scale theatrical productions.
By staging “Obaakɛ vs Akwaaba” at the National Theatre, organisers hope to broaden the reach of comedy, give established acts a different stage to showcase their craft and introduce rising performers to new audiences.
